Ezekiel Hudspith, Partner, Dentons
Ezekiel Hudspith is a Partner at Dentons in the environment and planning team. He specialises in, and advises clients on all aspects of the Resource Management Act and related legislation, helping them obtain resource consents and designations, and make submissions on changes to district and regional plans. He also helps clients to comply with their environmental requirements under the Resource Management Act (RMA) and other Acts, and assists them when they face potential prosecution for breaching their authorisations. Ezekiel advises government and local government agencies carrying out large infrastructure projects, including options assessment (MCA) processes and obtaining RMA approvals. He has also acted for private companies seeking planning authorisations. Ezekiel has a particular interest in three waters infrastructure (water supply, wastewater, and stormwater), and freshwater management (including water allocation for irrigation and the effects of land use activities on water quality).
Charlotte Houghton, Partner, Anderson Lloyd
Charlotte specialises in litigation and dispute resolution, with particular expertise in personal and corporate insolvency, debt recovery, and security enforcement. Charlotte also has expertise in dispute resolution between directors, shareholders and trustees, and disputes involving negligent valuations and commercial leasing. Charlotte also advises clients in relation to insurance disputes and disputes under the Construction Contracts Act 2002. Charlotte has appeared in Court at all levels in New Zealand, including in the Supreme Court. Charlotte is a member of the Restructuring Insolvency & Turnaround Association of New Zealand (RITANZ) and the New Zealand Insurance Law Association.
Ranui Calman, Partner, Greenwood Roche
Ranui Calman is a partner at Greenwood Roche and is based in the Christchurch office. She specialises in commercial property, commercial, and property and asset financing transactions. Ranui has particular forestry expertise. She has been the lead external lawyer on the One Billion Trees joint venture forestry right programme for Crown Forestry. Ranui also has experience with overseas investment applications, including for forestry and is part of the Overseas Investment Office’s Legal Reference Group. She regularly drafts forestry rights and provides forestry and contract advice to government, iwi and other commercial clients. She acts on forestry acquisitions and more recently has become involved with carbon forestry and permanent forestry both in New Zealand and overseas.
David Goodman, Partner, Anderson Lloyd
David is a member of Anderson Lloyd’s corporate and commercial team, advising on commercial, governance and corporate law matters. His work includes mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, insolvencies, corporate structuring, and negotiating and preparing commercial agreements. David joined Anderson Lloyd as a Partner in November 2013. He was admitted to the bar in 1988 and has more than 25 years’ experience as a lawyer in Christchurch, Wellington and London – during which time he completed a Masters in company and commercial law at the University of London. David has considerable experience in providing advice on general corporate matters, including governance, directors’ duties, shareholder disputes, Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 compliance, receiverships, and liquidations. David is one of New Zealand’s leading irrigation lawyers and acts for a large number of irrigation companies in relation to governance, structure, and capital raising matters.
