India Townsend, Senior Associate, Simpson Grierson
India is highly qualified specialist employment lawyer. She advises on all aspects of employment and health and safety legal issues. India is experienced in both contentious and non-contentious employment law including employment investigations, restructures, senior employment arrangements, on sensitive or acrimonious disciplinary or grievance processes, negotiated exits, performance management, restraint of trade disputes, incentive schemes, Privacy Act issues and day-to-day advisory work. India regularly attends mediations on behalf of national and internationally based clients. She has experience in the New Zealand High Court, Employment Relations Authority, Employment Court and Human Rights Review Tribunal. She has also represented clients in the UK Employment Tribunal and Employment Appeal Tribunal and has extensive experience in international transactional and corporate M&A support. India has recently returned after spending four years as a senior lawyer in Macfarlanes LLP’s highly ranked employment law practice where she was the key adviser and day-to-day contact to several global businesses. She also advised high calibre London-based employer clients on all types of contentious matters. India is highly regarded by her clients for the level of service she provides the effort she puts into developing strong client relationships. Andrew Shaw, Managing Partner, Lane Neave
Andrew is the Managing Partner of Lane Neave and he heads the nationwide Employment Law Team. He has over 32 years’ experience and is recognised as one of New Zealand’s top employment, ACC, and health & safety law practitioners. Andrew is currently on the New Zealand Law Society ACC Committee, having previously been on the New Zealand Law Society Employment Law Committee, where he assists in providing guidance on proposed legislation. Andrew is an experienced litigator, and he has appeared in the Employment Relations Authority, Employment Court, and ordinary Courts, including the Court of Appeal, and advising on a Supreme Court appeal. Andrew also regularly participates in private and MBIE mediations. He has a strong interest in public policy, as this relates to his specialist areas, and as such he is contacted by the media to make comment on current issues of importance. He is also involved in assisting several charities on a pro bono basis. The Employment Law Team has been a past multiple winner at the New Zealand Law Awards and it is on the All of Government Legal Panel, providing advice to State and Local Government entities around New Zealand. Andrew regularly presents at workshops and webinars thought New Zealand. Tash Rae, Senior Associate, Anderson Lloyd
Tash has been working in the immigration field for 13 years. Her experience includes immigration visa processing, technical and risk advice for the New Zealand Government and the management of immigration professionals in both the public and private sectors. Before joining Anderson Lloyd, Tash spent several years leading a specialist immigration team in Christchurch. Prior to that she held various roles with Immigration New Zealand and spent two years working for a large global immigration firm. Her experience crosses multiple jurisdictions, having spent time based in Washington DC, London and Singapore. Tash specialises in corporate immigration for large New Zealand employers and multi-national companies. Due to her experience, she is also regularly instructed to act for clients in medical waiver, character waiver and employer compliance issues.


Angela Evans, Partner, BE Employment Law
Angela is a Partner at BE Employment Law, a specialist employment law firm. In addition to her employment law expertise, Angela has a commercial litigation background, has appeared in the Authority and in most courts where employment issues are heard and is keen on the strategic and advocacy aspects of employment law.


Robbie Bryant, Senior Associate, Todd & Walker Law
Robbie is a Senior Associate and is TODD & WALKER Law’s employment law specialist. Robbie is primarily based in TODD & WALKER Law’s Wanaka office but also works across the Queenstown office. Robbie advises clients on a full range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters. He has advised start-up businesses through to some of New Zealand’s leading public and private sector organisations, including not-for-profit organisations. Robbie also advises employees at all levels including senior managers and executives. An experienced litigator, Robbie represents clients in the Employment Relations Authority and Employment Court, and he has made appearances in the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court. William also specialises in privacy law, health and safety, and the nuances of the Holidays Act 2003. William has represented both employers and employees at the Employment Relations Authority and Employment Court and regularly attends mediations.
