Kathryn is a senior barrister practising in employment and privacy law as well as civil litigation and professional ethics. Kathryn is an Adjunct Professor of Practice in the Faculty of Law, University of Canterbury and she regularly presents at conferences and seminars in privacy, employment, and legal ethics. Kathryn is a member of the Employment Law Bulletin editorial committee. She has co-authored the chapters on Employment Law and Health Information in Health Care and the Law (5th ed), co-authored Ethics, Professional Responsibility and the Lawyer (3rd Ed), and she authors the Privacy Law Chapter in Human Rights Law – Westlaw NZ (online).

Gunes Haksever, Senior Associate, Dentons
Gunes is a Senior Associate in the Innovation and Technology practice at Dentons, specialising in commercial contracting, technology and privacy law. He advises clients on consumer law, regulatory compliance, commercial agreements (particularly in the tech industry), IP licensing, consumer, media and marketing law, and delivers pragmatic, practical, and commercially-focused advice. Gunes regularly advises his clients on privacy and data protection law, including international clients entering into the New Zealand market, and existing players looking to ensure their privacy and data protection practices are up to speed. He has advised numerous clients all over the globe including in New Zealand, Germany, United Kingdom and the United States, and he has experience coordinating multijurisdictional matters. Ed is a partner at Hudson Gavin Martin, a boutique technology, media and intellectual property law firm. Ed’s main areas of practice are technology and IP development, commercialisation, protection and procurement. Ed has worked with businesses across various industry sectors (both customers and vendors) and has numerous clients offering SaaS solutions. In addition to his law degree, he has a degree majoring in Information Systems, so understands the technical, business and legal issues involved in technology projects. Ed is a committee member of the Auckland District Law Society Technology Law Committee and is the Secretary of the NZ Middle East Business Council.
