Ferne Bradley leads the Private Client team and is a specialist in Trusts, Relationship Property and Divorce. She also works closely with the Trust team, helping clients create the best structure for their asset ownership and the right approach for the management of their personal affairs. Ferne has a broad legal background with extensive experience in Company Governance, Charitable Trusts, Mediation, Property and Commercial Law. Professional and public governance appointments include being a member of the Canterbury Branch Committee of the New Zealand Law Society.
Maria Young joined Cavell Leitch in 2008 to further her interest in estate planning law. Since then she has consolidated her experience in Wills, Powers of Attorney and Elder Law and works closely with our Trusts team. Maria has a variety and depth of experience. Immediately prior to joining Cavell Leitch, she worked for two other Christchurch Law firms where her interest in trusts and asset protection was sparked. During that time she gained experience in residential, rural and commercial property transactions, business sales and purchases, employment issues, relationship property issues, wills and trust law.
Peter Eastgate is the Trust Partner at Cavell Leitch, supervising one of the largest trust practices in the South Island. With over 35 years experience, he is a specialist in the areas of wills, estate and succession law, elder law, the law of attorneyship, asset protection and all aspects of trust law (including charitable trusts), and he acts as a trustee for many of his clients. A graduate of Canterbury University (Law) and the University of New England (Trust Management), he is a member of STEP, a Fellow of the Executor and Trustee Institute (AU), a member of the Trust Law Committee of the NZLS (Canterbury-Westland branch), and a senior member of the NZ Trustees Association. A strong advocate of ongoing education within the legal and trust professions, he has since 2007 been the NZ Legal Consultant at UWS College at the University of Western Sydney, supervising a trust and estate law teaching programme for NZ based students for the Executor and Trustee Institute.
