Booking and payment

How do I book a seminar?

You can book a seminar online if you have a credit card. Simply: 1. Search for the seminar you are interested 2. Select 'Add to cart' - located at the end of the page 3. Select 'Add attendee details' 4. Complete your details and select 'Submit' 5. Review your booking and select 'Checkout' 6. Enter your payment details and select 'Continue to review order(s)' 7. Review your order and payment details and select 'Submit Order' 8. Your confirmation of order will appear. This will also be sent in an email to the address entered. If you have a registration form please fax it to + 61 2 9387 8711 or post it to Legalwise Seminars Level 31, 48 Shortland Street, Auckland 1010. Or phone us on 09 363 3322 and speak to any of our team members.

How do I pay for my seminar by cheque?

Post your booking form with cheque to Legalwise Seminars Level 31, 48 Shortland Street, Auckland, 1010. Don’t forget to include your email address so we can email you the tax invoice and seminar details

I want to book into a seminar but need a Tax Invoice before I can pay for it. Is this possible?

Yes, this is possible. There are two possible methods - 1. Phone us on 09 363 3322 and we can process your registration over the phone, raise an invoice and have this emailed to you. 2. You can complete a registration form and email to: accounts@legalwiseseminars.com.au attaching your form and request an invoice.

I am attending a seminar, what do I need to bring with me?

Materials and pens are provided. Morning or afternoon tea is included. We do recommend you wear layered clothing as we cannot always control the temperature in the conference rooms.

Am I able to cancel or transfer my registration?

CANCELLATION POLICY: You may nominate a replacement delegate to attend in your stead at any time. If you notify us in writing more than 5 working days before a seminar/conference that you are unable to attend, you may choose to: i. Obtain a credit for future use (valid for 24 months and cannot be exchanged for a refund) ii. Obtain a full refund iii. Transfer to another seminar/conference and/or to any format If you notify us in writing 5 working days or less before a seminar/conference that you are unable to attend, you will not receive a refund, however for a 15% administration fee you may choose to: i. Obtain a credit for future use (valid for 24 months and cannot be exchanged for a refund) ii. Transfer to another seminar/conference and/or to any format All notifications should be forwarded to info@legalwiseseminars.com.au For the cancellation policies for international events, please see the particular brochure or contact us on 09 363 3322 as there are specific requirements due to the nature of overseas travel.

It also complies with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Collection Legalwise Seminars collects personal information for the purposes of registering you at one of our events or keeping you informed about our events. As well, we collect personal information about you from publicly available sources, or when legally required to do so. The information we collect is used only to: • Verify your identity; • Assist you to enrol for our programs; • Promote our programs to you; and • Maintain and develop our database We also collect some statistical data about visitors to our website, such as number of visits, pages viewed, types of transactions conducted, time online and documents downloaded. Some of this information is collected by using “cookies”, or small text files to hold data; but none of the information we collect allows us to identify a visitor. We do not collect personal information by unlawful or unfair means, nor in an unreasonably intrusive way. In particular, we do not use electronic harvesting software, nor do we use lists which have been generated by means of such software. You can also choose not to identify yourself when dealing with Legalwise Seminars although this may prevent us from processing your registration or keeping you up to date with information about programs to be conducted by Legalwise Seminars. Legalwise Seminars endeavours to keep personal information accurate, complete and up-to-date. Use and Disclosure Legalwise Seminars may collect and disclose personal information for the following purposes in compliance with the Privacy Act 1988: • to process your registration; • to maintain our records and database; • to research, establish and operate programs; and • to establish user/customer accounts for individuals accessing and/or using services, provided by Legalwise Seminars Legalwise Seminars may disclose a list of delegates with limited personal information such as name, position and organisation of employment and provide this to presenters or other delegates, at Legalwise Seminars programs. Legalwise Seminars may disclose personal information to external speakers and third party business services, for example, IT, printing and mailing organisations both in Australia and overseas and other organisations as and when required to provide certain services to Legalwise Seminars and to whom Legalwise Seminars will disclose certain limited personal information for the purposes of the business services provided to Legalwise Seminars. It may be necessary for Legalwise Seminars to send personal information overseas for any of these purposes. Where practicable we implement measures to require organisations to whom disclosure is made to comply with the Privacy Act and other confidentiality measures. If you do not want your personal information to be disclosed or would like to opt out of receiving communications from us, whether by email or mail you can do so by emailing info@legalwiseseminars.com.au or by calling us on (029387 8133 or writing to us at the address above. We will endeavour to process any request for opting out as soon as possible, but you may receive communications from us or from third parties whilst we are processing your request. Data Security Legalwise Seminars takes reasonable steps to keep all personal information secure and to protect that personal information from misuse or loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. If Legalwise Seminars determines that personal information is no longer needed for any purpose, Legalwise Seminars will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify that personal information. Where appropriate Legalwise Seminars uses secure transmission facilities. However, no transmission of information over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure and we do not warrant the security of any information transmitted to us over the Internet. Legalwise Seminars takes all reasonable steps to ensure that any personal information transferred to someone in a foreign country will only be used in a way substantially in accordance with the Privacy Act. Legalwise Seminars does not collect sensitive information about an individual.

What are the full terms and conditions?

Accreditation: If any program is relevant to your immediate or long term needs in relation to your professional development and practice of law, you may claim one CPD points for each hour of attendance excluding refreshment breaks, or to the maximum permitted by the Rules governing your admission and practice in the state in which you are admitted. Program variation: Legalwise Seminars Pty Ltd retains the right to vary the program to deal with unforseen circumstances. This includes cancelling or rescheduling the conference and changing speakers or content if the occasion obliges it to do so and to alter the package inclusions in the event of circumstances outside their control. Privacy: Legalwise Seminars Pty Ltd protects the privacy and security of information provided by you. By completing this form, you agree to the use of your personal information by Legalwise Seminars Pty Ltd: to process your registration or enquiry, to contact you about products, services and events, and for internal purposes. A list providing only the delegates’ name, job title and company are provided to all presenters prior to the event. Legalwise Seminars Pty Ltd does not at any time pass your information on to external companies. You may request to gain access to any of your personal information that we have collected. Live Web Seminars: Live web seminars and seminar recordings prices are per person only. They are not to be distributed or for group viewings. Please note live web seminars and seminar recordings may be cancelled due to low numbers. If cancelled, we will offer the Face-to-Face option, a transfer to another seminar or a full refund. Cancellation Policy: You may nominate a replacement delegate to attend in your stead at any time. If you notify us in writing more than 5 working days prior to the event you may choose to: i. Obtain a credit for future use (valid for 24 months and cannot be exchanged for a refund) ii. Obtain a full refund iii. Transfer to another available seminar/conference in any format. If you notify us in writing within 1 to 5 working days prior you will be charged an administration fee of $75 for a half day, >50 for a full day or $300 for a 2 day event. With the remaining balance you can choose to: i. Obtain a credit for future use (valid for 24 months and cannot be exchanged for a refund) ii. Transfer to another seminar/conference in any format and pay the difference. Any cancellations within 24 hours of the seminar will be charged the full payment and no refund or credit will be issued. Transfer Policy: Transfers between different formats are allowed without penalty more than 5 days working days prior to the event. Attending seminars face-to-face/online + CPD points

What does my registration for a half day seminar include?

A comprehensive set of materials, refreshments on arrival along with morning and/or afternoon tea.

I am interested in an audio recording. What is the format of the recording?

The registrant is provided with a link and a password to follow the presentations online. All papers are provided in PDF format.

What ways can I earn my CPD/CLE points through Legalwise Seminars?

You can earn you CPD/ CLE points through attending one of our many seminars. Alternatively you can may earn some of your points through purchasing and listening to our audio recordings. To understand how many points you can earn from audio recordings click here. If a particular program is relevant to your immediate or long term needs in relation to your professional development and practice of law, you may claim one MCLE/ CPD/ MCPD point for each hour of attendance excluding refreshment breaks.

I can't attend a seminar but would like to purchase the papers. How can I do this?

We cannot guarantee if the papers from the seminar will be available for purchase till approximately 2 weeks after the seminar. So, please call us on 09 363 3322 approx 2 weeks after the seminar and we will advise if the paper is available. Alternatively email us at info@legalwiseseminars.co.nz 2 weeks after the seminar.

Do your events always run as advertised?


While most Legalwise Seminars events run like clockwork, we do retain the right to vary the program to deal with unforeseen circumstances. This includes cancelling or rescheduling a program, changing speakers or content, or moving presentation times around due to the needs of presenters.
